This debate really gets one fueled up...A very important topic...
notice how it might start with some shallow remarks but it develops more by contributors such as (إبراهـــيم) and (وحداني)...

there are several points that students made, one was that we need English to "develop" and "advance"... and fine have that.. make English courses requirements.. give it importance in school.. but DO NOT transform everything into English and DO NOT change the way even Arabic is being taught.. as a Rand report expressed "Arabic is being taught as a tool"... AND if Arabic is so undernourished and impractical, then lets try to fix that.. English has always changed.. compare the way Shakespeare wrote and the way contemporary authors do.. why can't the same be achieved for Arabic??

Then there are people that claim Arabic doesn't face a crisis since we speak it at Home and use it so frequently... Well all what I have to say is look at me! Yes i use Arabic at home, but the second i need to express myself i prefer English.. even with my parents when I have to make a point... How much sadder does it need to get?? Yes, my education was overall successful and fulfilling, but I hate nothing more than the fact that I can't write this post in Arabic! Being ashamed doesn't come close to expressing the way I feel...

There is so much more I can write.. but i will leave you guys with an article I had posted earlier on the TOEFL exam..
